There
have been 76 local authority by-elections so far this year. Here is a summary

The
obvious success story here are the Liberal Democrats, the biggest losers are
the Conservatives. Labour has had an electorally neutral year thus far.
I
am not sure what this will mean for the May 3rd elections, but I
would caution about expecting too many gains from Labour.
