There are 75 seats up for grabs in the Essex County Council elections
in May.
The parties have the following number of candidates:
75 Labour
75 Conservative
72 Liberal Democrat
59 UKIP
54 Green
27 Others
Only two parties have a full slate, an indication of the health of the parties
on the ground. Only Labour and the Conservatives can claim to completely cover
the County of Essex.
The following table shows the seats won by the major parties in the
