Labour's vote share is up on 2015, and was their best
performance since 2012. Of course, there is some way to go to repeat their
performances of the 1990s when they ran the borough and successfully won the
1997 General Election.
The closest contest was in Canvey Island East where the Canvey Island Independent candidate succeeded with a 30 vote majority over UKIP.
